Phyllis Ruth Spatz, aged 94, passed away on April 12 in Riverdale, New York. She died peacefully in her sleep.

Due to COVID-19, only a small family service will be held on Sunday, April 19, and a shiva gathering will be held virtually on Monday, April 20 at 7:30 pm.

God called Irene into His loving arms early in the morning on Holy Saturday.  She died peacefully in her sleep at Calvary Hospital after a long battle with multiple health issues.  She is survived by her daughter Aurora, son-in-law Frank, and her three grandchildren Frank (“my one and only grandson”), Irene (“Princess”), and Elizabeth (“Little Princess”). “Nagyi”, as her grandchildren called her, will live in their hearts forever.   Irene was a blessing to everyone whose life she touched.  May God grant her eternal peace and rest.

John J. Zebulun was born in New York City on August 21, 1934. John was the late son of Mary & John Zebulun. John J Zebulun died on April 10th 2020 of the Coronavirus. John leaves to be cherished brother Walter Selassie Zebulun ( Betty) (preceded in death) Almaz M. Zebulun & (preceded in death Stanley Zebulun.

Alfred Schwartz, a beloved Riverdale resident, died on April 8th, 2020 at 93 from the Coronavirus. Loving husband, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, Uncle and great friend to the community for over 60 years. Survived by his children Gayle & Eugene Calimese, Amy & Kevin Kearney, Heidi Schwartz and Micheal Brady, sister Myrna Rosenblum & brother in law Robert, eight grand-children, special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gilbert Creutzberg passed away at the Hebrew Home of Riverdale in the Bronx, New York, on April 2, 2020 at the age of 91. He died of natural causes, following a decline in his health.

Thomas Moynihan, 92, passed away quietly in his sleep on March 27, 2020. He leaves behind his loving wife Mary (Hussey), son Thomas (Mary), and three grandchildren Elizabeth, Daniel, and Matthew. Born in Murrigrane Brandon, Co. Kerry Ireland, one of seven siblings. Thomas was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the N.Y. Telephone Company after 37 years. He was a life long parishioner of Visitation Parish. Thomas enjoyed his Sundays at Gaelic Park, and adored his grandchildren. Forever “Pop”.

Nora D. Carroll on March 24, 2020 at the age of 96. Loving husband of the late Willie. Dear mother of Billy ( Maria), Jane (Bill) Melrose, and Dorothy (Ronnie) Laguardia. Cherished grandmother and great grandmother to many . Nora will always be remembered for her wit, honestly and devotion to her family. It must have been a wonderful celebration when she was reunited with her sisters - Mary McBrien , Kay Munson , Terry Stefeck, Anne McGlynn, and her beautiful granddaughter Jillian. It will always be “Happy Hour “. Nora will be buried on Monday , March 30th along side her husband Willie at the Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ .

Ray was an animal loving, proud veteran who had quite a journey with heart ailments, and whose wife died from ovarian cancer.
