HONORING OUR RICH HISTORY - Our funeral home stands as a testament to our enduring legacy, with its roots dating back to 1966 when it was founded by the esteemed Raymond R. McGlynn. Raymond R. McGlynn, a proud veteran who served in the Navy during World War II, embarked on a remarkable journey. Following his receipt of Undertaker and Embalming licenses under the GI Bill in 1942, he took ownership of Edward J. Lynch Funeral Home on Willis Avenue in the South Bronx.

For two decades, Raymond R. McGlynn faithfully served the South Bronx and parts of Upper Manhattan, becoming an integral part of the community. His dedication and commitment to providing compassionate funeral services left an indelible mark on the lives of countless families.

In 1965, Raymond R. McGlynn undertook the ambitious project of building Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home from an empty lot, and in January 1966, its doors opened to the public. Over the next 26 years, he continued to serve our community alongside his devoted sons and daughter, cementing the funeral home's reputation as a pillar of support and comfort in times of need.

On March 2, 1992, a new chapter began when Anne and Jeffrey Wiecek, carrying forward the legacy of Anne's father, assumed ownership of the business. Their dedication to preserving the values and traditions established by Raymond R. McGlynn is a testament to our unwavering commitment to providing compassionate funeral services to our community.

Anne and Jeffrey brought a unique blend of expertise from their previous careers into their stewardship of Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home. Anne, armed with her background as a Critical Care Manager and a BS in Nursing, and Jeffrey, a CPA with extensive experience at a national public accounting firm, embarked on their journey with a clear vision in mind.

In the span of the last three decades, they have not only overseen numerous enhancements, both inside and outside the establishment but have also seamlessly blended their distinct professional backgrounds with a continued commitment to infuse a warm, family-oriented approach into their service. Their dedication has led to even higher standards of professionalism, ensuring that each family they serve receives the utmost care and support.

We invite you to reach out to us to discover how Anne and Jeffrey's unique combination of skills can make the funeral planning process as seamless and comforting as possible.
