HISTORY - Our funeral home was founded in 1966 by Raymond R. McGlynn. Raymond R. McGlynn served in the Navy during World War II and after receiving his Undertake and Embalming licenses under to GI Bill in 1942 purchased Edward J. Lynch Funeral Home on Willis Avenue in the South Bronx and served the South Bronx and parts of upper Manhattan for the next 20 years. Raymond R. McGlynn built Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home from an empty lot in 1965 and opened its doors to the public in January 1966. He operated the funeral home for the next 26 years with his sons and daughter. On March 2, 1992, Anne and Jeffrey Wiecek bought the business from Anne's father.

Anne and Jeffrey brought prior business knowledge outside of the funeral industry to Riverdale, Anne was a Critical Care Manager with a BS in Nursing and Jeffrey was a CPA with a National public accounting firm, so when they took ownership of the family business, they had a vision in mind. Over the past 27 years, they have completed various upgrades, both inside and outside, while continuing to provide a caring family touch with even higher standards of professional service.
