June 27, 1989 - September 6, 2026
Colleen Mary Moran Martyn, age 37, of Riverdale, New York, passed away on September 6, 2026. She was born on June 27, 1989, in Nyack, New York, to Patrick and Jacqueline Moran.
After graduating from Clarkstown High School South in 2007, Colleen worked at several restaurants before discovering a career that truly suited her. As an ultrasound technologist, she brought care and compassion to her work, spending many years at Lincoln Hospital and most recently working at Bronx North Central.
Colleen loved the thrill of life and never needed much of an excuse to have fun. She had an adventurous spirit and was always willing to try something new. She enjoyed paddle boarding, rock climbing, and even skydiving, embracing life with a sense of excitement and curiosity. She made up new dances, spent time at her brother’s house, and loved playing with her nieces and nephews. She was never afraid to express herself, whether it was through a new tattoo, a head of pink hair, or simply being unapologetically herself. She enjoyed doing puzzles, watching funny TV shows, and had a great memory that recalled movie quotes as easily as it recalled sweet memories from the past. She was known for making her black bean brownies for family parties and for calling people just because she wanted to chat. Colleen lovingly cared for her pet rabbit, Luna, as well as her fish and birds.
Colleen was kind to everyone she met, and her big smile and infectious laughter could brighten any room. She loved her family and friends deeply and cherished the people who were part of her life. She also carried a special love for those who had passed before her, especially her father and her beloved cousin, Brian Tracey. Their memories remained close to her heart, and she found ways to keep their spirits and the love they shared alive. Colleen had a way of making people feel loved, remembered, and connected, and that love will continue to live on in everyone who knew her.
Her warmth, humor, adventurous spirit, and one-of-a-kind personality will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her mother, Jacqueline Moran (Thomas O’Connor); her husband, Patrick Martyn; her brother, Patrick (Mary) Moran; and her sisters, Kerry (Brad) Stolworthy and Teresa Moran (Dave Reiss). She is also survived by her grandmother, Mary Thornton; her nieces and nephews, Patrick and Owen Moran, Jose Romero-Bosch, and Brandon, Roland, and Tallulah Stolworthy; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.
Reposing Sunday, September 13th from 2:00 - 7:00 PM at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial Monday, September 14th at St. Margaret of Cortona Church at 10:30 AM. Committal will be private.
