Mary R. Walsh (nee Carton)

November 29th, 1934 – May 29th, 2025

Mary R. Walsh (nee Carton) of Riverdale, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 29th, 2025, with her family by her side. Now, reunited with her husband of 55 years and love of her life, John F. Walsh. Together, they enjoyed a life filled with love and happiness, raising their six children: Peggy Ann Carey, John Walsh (Suzanne), Rosemary O’Connor (predeceased) (Jim), Susan MacLeman (John), Tom Walsh, and Geralyn Gough (Paul).

Mary and John celebrated many joyous years, enriched by travel, lifelong friends, and the delight of their 16 grandchildren: Jimmy (Abby), Christopher (Christina), Kaitlyn (Nico), Johnny (Lorraine), Bryan, Angelina, Devan, Michael, Sean (fiancée Emily), James, Kelly Ann, Meghan, Kassandra, Paul (Alexis), Marybeth, and Molly. 

They were also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Graciana, Rosemary, Neila, Chloe, James, Johnny, and Jasper.

Mary enjoyed many beautiful summers at the New Jersey Shore, creating cherished memories with nieces, nephews’, family and friends.  Just remember, Mary’s words of wisdom, “There is always time for tea”.

Reposing Tuesday, June 3rd from 3 - 7 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY.   Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am at St. Margaret's of Cortona, Riverdale, NY.   Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to  Autism Science Foundation (autismsciencefoundation.org) and/or Doylestown Hospice “In House”, 4259 West Swamp Road, Suite 204, Doylestown, PA 18902.
