A Funeral Mass is being held at St. Margaret of Cortona in the Bronx, following pandemic safety protocols. A private burial will be held at St. Francis Borgia Cemetery in Washington, Missouri, where Shirley will be laid to rest alongside her parents in accordance with her wishes.

Funeral Mass will be on Friday, November 6, at St. Gabriel’s Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Manhattan College Manhattan College Giving, Hunters’ Syndrome Society Hunters Donations , or your local healthcare organization.

On September 21, 2020, our beloved Madeleine Anna Munz Burke was called Home. Madeleine was the devoted daughter of Martin Munz and Anna Davis Munz. She joins her husband, Eugene Francis Burke, in heaven and leaves behind her loving sister, Nancy Munz Callaghan; children, Marlene Burke Barrett, Paul E. Burke, and Christopher F. Burke; and adoring grandchildren, Anna and Megan Barrett and Emma and Bella Burke.

Through her kindness and gentility, Madeleine gathered a wide circle of friends, family and admirers who will miss her terribly, but will also take comfort in the memory of a fine, loving woman.

All are welcome in join in her remembrance at her funeral mass and memorial service at a future undetermined date in the Spring of 2021.

Dr. John W. Work IV, son of John W. Work III and Edith Carr McFall passed away from Parkinson’s on May 11, 2020 peacefully at home in Riverdale, New York in the loving arms of his wife, Lynn Navarra.
