Joe Rivera

Death Notice - Joe Rivera Loving husband of Evelyn Reyes passed peacefully into God's arms on July 21, 2014. He is survived by his brother Angel, his sister-in-law Irma and nieces Irma and Maria. Joe was a Vietnam Veteran and a retired Sergeant of the New York Police Department.  As a longtime resident of Skyview on the Hudson...he loved his home and community.

The family is having the Wake from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Saturday July 26, 2014 at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home located at 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY 10471.

Joe will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery as this was his most desired wish. His family is requesting in lieu of flowers that donations be made in his name to one of his three supported charities: St. Jude Children's Hospital, Operation Smile and Wounded Warrior Project.

"As long as we remember him he will always be in our hearts and in our minds."

Françoise Dupuy Frohlich

Death Notice - Françoise Dupuy Frohlich died peacefully on July 19, 2014.  She was born in Paris, France on July 1, 1923 and she came to the United States in 1948 with her husband, violinist Karel Frohlich. Françoise Frohlich was an accomplished classical pianist and gave concerts in the New York area until she fell ill in 2003.  She resided at Sky View Nursing Home, Croton-on-Hudson, NY since then. She was predeceased by her son, Jean-Claude Frohlich and her husband Karel Frohlich, and is survived by her daughters Nadine Iliev (Rumen) and Vivienne Courtney (Neal), her son Jean-Pierre Frohlich (Isabelle), her grandchildren Claudine Gopalan (Prem), Alen Iliev, Lilly, Spencer and Margaux Frohlich, and Caroline, Brian, John Paul (Rosanna) and Thomas Courtney, and her great-grandchildren Milan and Kiran Gopalan. Reposing Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY. The Christian Burial Service will be 10 am Friday at Christ Church Riverdale. Interment to follow Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx NY.

 

Frank Moran

Death Notice - Francis (Frank) Moran, loving husband of Kathleen (Nee Callaghan), passed peacefully into God's arms on July 18th.   Devoted father of Mary (Ed), Frank (Mary), Kathleen, John (Aideen), Tom (Eileen), and Kevin (Beth).  Beloved grandfather of Kathleen, Eddie, Jake, Sean, Frankie, Owen, Mark, Gavin and Liam.  Also survived by his brother Andrew Moran. Frank was a long-time member of the Manhattan Restaurant Association, the Leitrim Society, NY Athletic Club and the Celtic Golf Club. O’Connell, David Joseph

Death Notice - David Joseph O’Connell, 84, of Fairfield, OH passed away peacefully on June 27, 2014 at his home with his wife by his side after a brief illness. “Joe” O’Connell, son of Mary and Jack O’Connell, is survived by his wife of 55 years (Marguerite “Bunnie” O’Connor O’Connell), son Brian and his wife Laura Connors of Boston, son Sean and his wife Beth of Fairfield, grandchildren Caitlin O’Connell, Maeve O’Connell and James Connors, sister Daisy O’Connor, nieces and nephews Shirley Higgins and her husband Chris, John O’Connor, Philip O’Connor and his wife Deidre, and Maria O’Connor, and six grand nieces and grand nephews, one great grand nephew, and many cousins in England, New York, New Jersey and Chicago.  Joe was predeceased by brothers Sean, James and sister Bea.

Born on October 19, 1929 in Castleisland Co. Kerry Ireland, Joe married Bunnie on July 6th 1959 and immigrated to the Unites States shortly thereafter.  Residing in New York City and later in Hollywood, FL, he worked in the airline industry for 40 years, beginning with Eastern Airlines, followed by Pan Am and Carnival Air.  Joe was an avid amateur photographer, capturing the family history in indelible images of all the major family events over many years.  He returned to Ireland every year and loved spending time with his family and friends in the US, Ireland and England.  Joe’s commitment to family and friends, sense of humor, and his masterful ability to fix anything will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Family will receive visitors on Sunday, July 6 from 2:00-6:00 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx, NY.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, July 7th at 10:45am at Church of the Incarnation, 1290 St. Nicholas Avenue, New York City.

Death Notice - Leticia Antonio-Dolber R.N., Dietitian October 8, 1942 - June 1, 2014.  Beloved wife to the late Frederick Dolber, Esq.  Born in Manila, Philippines, she was the beloved daughter of the late Emiliana Cruz and Andres Antonio Sr..  Loving sister to Flaviana, Elizabeth, Iluminda, Victoria, Alfonso (deceased), Jose, Venancio, Emmanuel, Andres Jr..  Leticia, known as "Letty" to her close friends, spent her last 17 years with the late Frederick (Freddie) which she lovingly called him while working as a charge nurse at The Hebrew Home Nursing Home, Riverdale, NY.  She bravely fought the sequelae of a cerebral stroke suffered a year ago.  She loved life, work, people and was always warm, caring, vibrant and was dedicated to her patients, family, friends, and loyal and loving to her late husband "Freddie".  She died at Mt. Sinai Hospital in NYC.   Reposing Tuesday 5-8 pm and Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 pm with a religious service at 6:00 pm Wednesday June 4th at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Ave,  Bronx.   Prior to departure there will be prayers at the funeral home at 11:30 am. Burial Thursday June 5th at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley, NY. Many thanks to her friends who touched her wonderful life.
