Marilyn Capolino

Marilyn Capolino, 81, of Riverdale, New York, passed away on August 29, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.

Born on April 12, 1945 in Manhattan, New York to Mary and John Nickles, Marilyn spent her life bringing warmth, dedication, and energy to everyone around her. She attended St. Margaret’s elementary school and Our Lady of Victory high school.

Marilyn worked for many years as a bank teller at Irving Trust and The Bank of New York, where she was known for her tireless work ethic. It is also where she met her husband, Frank Capolino, who worked as a security guard at the bank.

Beyond her career, Marilyn had a deep passion for life. She loved cooking, traveling, shopping, reading, and spending time with her family and caring for her beloved cats Butterscotch, Tigger and Princess. She was a parishioner of St. Margaret of Cortona Church and would go to mass every Sunday with her husband Frank. She took many trips and vacations throughout her life with her husband Frank, and spent plenty of quality time with her sister and brother-in-laws Betty, Bobby, Rosalie, Raymond, Clara and Frank. Marilyn was very close with her sister Connie from Florida, and they would often visit each other and talk every day over the phone. Marilyn could often be found visiting her extended family in New Jersey or spending time at home with Rosemarie, Danny and Joseph.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank (2017).

Marilyn is survived by her sister Connie, her step-daughter Rosemarie, her son-in-law Danny, her grandson Joseph, many nieces and nephews, and a circle of extended family and friends who will miss her deeply. She left a profound impact on those around her.
