FOREVER LOVED, NEVER FORGOTTEN
In Loving Memory of Miguel A. Gautier
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Miguel A. Gautier, who departed this life on June 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.
Miguel was born on June 24, 1941, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, to Ramona Luna and José “Papito” Gautier. At the age of 16, he immigrated to New York City, where he worked tirelessly to help support his family and build a better future.
Miguel married at the age of 18 and became the proud father of six children. In 1987, he remarried and raised two more children.
A hardworking and determined man, Miguel often held two jobs at a time before realizing his dream of owning Rami Café (El Rincón de los Artistas) on Dyckman Street in Inwood, New York. An entrepreneur at heart, he pursued various business ventures throughout his life before enjoying a well-earned retirement.
Miguel will be fondly remembered for his love of music, good company, and exceptional food. He especially enjoyed roast pork, Mexican cuisine, and never passed up a good bottle of whiskey served neat. His warm spirit, generosity, tireless work ethic, and devotion to family left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Bitalia Venecia of 39 plus years; his eight children, Guadalupe, Miguel Jr., Joseph, Nancy, Evelyn, Oscar, Bilerka, and Romulo; 17 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; his brother, John; his sister, Margaret; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory forever.
