Maureen Maher was born on February 13th, 1959 to Philip Brady and Mary Kavanaugh Brady. She was the fifth child of six children in total, survived by her loving siblings, Elizabeth Metz, John Brady, and Vera Kunz.
Her sister Elizabeth was Maureen’s ever-present, comforting confidant, and her brother John, a never-ending source of cheer and lightheartedness.
Maureen earned an accounting degree from Manhattan College, very quickly becoming a top-tier accountant of high caliber, working in reputable nursing homes as the Head of Accounting. She worked hard for the elderly in her care, making sure their finances were protected, and ensuring they had all the possible benefits and assistance granted to them.
Maureen was a devoted wife to the late Patrick Maher, and a loving mother to their three surviving daughters: Siobhan, Meagan, and Ashley Maher, as well as her granddaughter, Alice Maher.
What best describes Maureen Maher is her passion in bringing happiness to others. She thrived when she hosted family gatherings, especially when celebrating her most beloved holiday, Christmas. Everyone near Maureen felt connected, so very special, merely by existing in her presence. Maureen radiated warmth, empathy, and a kindness that stayed with her, even through the many years she endured with a worsening illness. Maureen’s spark of light, of relentless joy, never dimmed.
Maureen always believed that her children were her greatest accomplishments in life, but it is the unshakable strength of her spirit that will leave a lasting impression on the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.
