Kathleen I. Walker

Kathleen I. Walker was born in the Bronx on May 21th, 1932 and lived there her entire life.   She worked for F.W. Woolworth for 40 years. She began her career as a salesperson and rose to the position as a buyer for the company. Her career brought her to Asia and points around the globe. In addition, to her professional travels, her zest for life led her to travel the world on vacation. 

In her retirement she volunteered at the Riverdale Neighborhood house reaching out to bedridden seniors.  She also belonged to numerous senior groups.

She is predeceased by her long-time companion John Neville, “my John.”

She is also predeceased by a brother Charles Walker and is survived by two sisters Grace Humphrey of Nanuet, NY and Barbara Dineen of Highland Mills, NY.   She is also survived by her best friend and first cousin Alice Burns of the Bronx. They loved spending time together from shopping locally to vacationing in Europe. They had a unique relationship and companionship from childhood till the present. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Kay was known for her warm loving and generous personality along with her big smile and infectious laugh. She will be missed by all whom she touched.

Family will receive friends Monday, October 24, 2022 from 3-6 p.m. at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY.  Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 9:45 a.m. at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, 6000 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
