Elizabeth (Libby) Nugent, born August 9, 1925 of Woburn, Massachusetts, passed on at her home of natural causes on March 11, 2021. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Frank and siblings Elaine and Henry. Elizabeth, daughter of the late Henry and Susan McMahon, is survived by daughter Nancy, and sons Frank (Barbara), William (Pat) and Andrew (Jackie) and the late Brendan. Also survived by grandchildren Alex, Danny, Robbie, Jimmy, Nicole, Billy, Michael, Kevin, Lisa, Brian, Tom, Samantha, Frankie, and 11 great-grandchildren:
Elizabeth was an operating room nurse for Columbia Presbyterian Hospital for over four decades beginning in the 1950’s. Elizabeth loved travel, exploring the world, including places such as China, Egypt, Ireland, and England. She and Frank resided in Netherland Gardens in Riverdale, NY for over 70 years. She and Frank were great contributors to the Riverdale Community over the years lending help and support to the St. Margaret of Cortona Parish, P.S. 81, the North Riverdale Baseball League, and the Riverdale Mental Health Association.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 16th, 2021 at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home from 8:30 to 10:15 AM, a church service will follow at St. Margaret’s Church, and burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, immediately after.
