Maureen Claire Farley (nee Riordan), 68, of Riverdale, NY died peacefully with her loving husband at her side on December 7, 2017. Born in 1949 to Ruth and Andrew Riordan, Maureen was the third of five children. She was the school secretary for almost thirty years at St. Gabriel School in Riverdale, New York before retiring to spend more time with her husband and grandchildren. In 1977, she married her beloved Thomas with whom she recently celebrated 40 years of marriage. Maureen’s greatest accomplishment and joy in her life were her two daughters, Veronica (Romond) and Lynne (DeRosa). To know Maureen was to know that her family was her life. She is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Thomas, sister Debra (and nephew Charlie) and brother Andrew (and niece Kacie), daughters Veronica (and her husband Russell) and Lynne (and her husband Michael), and her much cherished grandchildren, Emma (9), Rusty (8), Mikey (6), Jackie (4), Tommy (4) and Ruthie (6 weeks). She is predeceased by her parents, Ruth and Andrew, and her beloved brothers, Jack and Ronald Riordan. Maureen will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and all whose life journey crossed paths with her. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 10 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Riverdale-on- Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Riverdale, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 11 at 10:00 AM at St. Gabriel Church, 3250 Arlington Avenue, Riverdale, NY with internment to follow at Mayrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Maureen’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
