Luke Francis O’Keefe passed away peaceably on Tuesday December 5, 2017. He was the youngest child to Frank O’Keeffe and Catherine O’Donnell. Born in Meescovane, Duagh, County Kerry, Ireland on October 3, 1917. He was the last surviving sibling to his six brothers (William, Cornelius, Frank, Denis, James and John) and sister (Catherine). Just two months ago he happily celebrated his 100th birthday. Cherished husband of Maureen (nee Sawyer). Devoted father of Denis, John and Luke Jr. and father-in-law of Diana, Nina, and Phyllis. Loving grandfather to Theresa Harris (Sheldon), Meghan O’Keefe, Kathryn O’Keefe (Ray Mechmann), John O’Keefe Jr and Michael O’Keefe (Kayla). Proud great-grandfather to Dominick, Zachary and Brodie. Luke was an uncle to 17 nieces and nephews. Luke worked for more than 25 years for Western Electric never having taken a sick day. Family and devotion to his faith were the cornerstones of his world. County Kerry, Inwood Park and Rockaway Beach was his favorite places.

Wake services will be held on Friday December 8th from 2-4 and 6-9 pm. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 9th at St. Margaret of Cortona Church at 9:45AM.
