Patrick O'Sullivan

Patrick Joseph O’Sullivan

Born March 10, 1933 in Lyreacrompane County Kerry, Ireland to parents Daniel O’Sullivan and Catherine O’Brien.  Devoted husband of 54 years to Margaret O’Sullivan.  Beloved father of Patrick, Eileen, Daniel, Margaret, Dermott, and Brian.  Cherished grandfather to Seamus, Rosaleen, Malachy, Ailish, Aengus, Neve, Molly, Patrick, Aidan, Graham, Rory, and Liam.

Pat emigrated to Inwood, New York in 1959 and adored the opportunities America presented him through hard work and dedication.  Pat met his wife Peggy at a dance in Brooklyn and married the love of his life.  He could not bear a moment without her by his side.  Pat loved getting to know people and valued the relationships with those that he crossed paths with.  His sharp wit and humor kept all of us grounded and present never allowing us to lose focus on what was important.    Pat had a constant curiosity for knowledge leading him to wide ranging topics from medical textbooks to chemistry journals.  A master carpenter by trade who built his parent’s home in Ireland as a young man, his family home in the Bronx, and later a home for his family in the Catskills where he loved spending time.  A man whose work ethic in life was only surpassed by his love for his family, especially his Peggy.  Pat will dearly be missed by all who met him and his legacy will live on through his actions, integrity, six children and twelve grandchildren.

We love you Dad

Reposing Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY. Mass of Christian Burial Monday 9:45 am at St. Margaret of Cortona Church. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
