It is with great sadness that the family of Robert "Bob" T. Barrett announces his passing after a long illness on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at the age of 66. Bob was born in 1951 in the Vinegar Hill Section of Manhattan. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Elsie, and their three children, Michael, Dawn, and Thomas. He will also be deeply missed by his loving grandson Jared as well as his sisters Barbara and Maureen. Bob was pre-deceased by his parents Madeline Gray and Thomas Barrett. Bob was retired from the NYC Transit Authority where he worked as a conductor. Bob enjoyed sports especially Football and baseball. Bob was a die-hard NY Yankee fan. Bob also enjoyed horse racing and going to Atlantic City.
The family will receive friends and neighbors on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx, NY. Mass of Christian Burial 9:45 am Saturday at St. Margaret of Cortona Church. Committal Woodlawn Cemetery.
