John F. Reilly

February 1, 1956 – August 2, 2025

John F. Reilly passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the age of 69.  John was born February 1, 1956 in the Hell’s Kitchen area of Manhattan, NY to the late Harry and Arletta Reilly. In his early life, the family relocated to the upper Manhattan neighborhood of Inwood, NY where John lived for over 60 years.  John is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Patricia, his children; Daniel, Michael and Meghan (Scott), his grandchildren; Reilly and Brayden, and sister Kathleen (Kevin).  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

John was a devoted family man, known for his generosity and humor.  As a lifelong sports fan, he could often be found cheering on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, NY Mets or NY Rangers.  Throughout his life, John was active in his community.  John was a graduate of St. Jude School, Rice High School and Manhattan College.  In his early years, he spent a lot of time volunteering at St. Jude parish.  Later, he coached his children in various sports.  He devoted time to North Riverdale Baseball League, St. Margaret’s School, and the Hudson Valley Elite AAU basketball program.  Later in life, he spent much of his time with his grandchildren.

Reposing will be Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 3:00pm – 7:00pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx, NY.  Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 9:45am at St. Margaret of Cortona Church.  Committal will be private.
