It is with profound sadness and with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved and cherished mother Cecily, in her 81st year at Jacobi Hospital, in Bronx, New York.
Born in St. George, Barbados, Cecily was a proud and loving mother and will be deeply missed by her children, Anthea, Mark, Myra, Wayne, Jules, Mackleton (predeceased), David (predeceased).
Cherished Granny to Richard, Andrea, Rielle, Cree and Damani, Great Granny to Javier, Brianne and Ayden and was a Great-Great-Granny to Jania, Janine and Majesty.
She was a cherished Auntie to many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cecily is survived by her sisters, Denise, Lorraine, and Sandra, Mary (predeceased), and brothers Basil, Anderson (predeceased), and Henderson (predeceased).
Egbert McDonald (predeceased) a cherished family friend.
Cecily loved her family and friends, and was happiest when surrounded by everyone. She enjoyed music and singing around the house, and known for her Bajan sense of humor and laughter. She was an avid wrestling fan, and loved watching her favorite western movies. She was a dedicated nurse who was devoted to providing the best care to the patients in her care.
Cecily’s tapestry of life was full of warm love and kindness, and positive faith and forgiveness.
May she rest eternally in peace, and she will be forever in our hearts.
The Celebration of Life will be held at 10am on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, followed by a Eulogy service at 11am where guests are welcome to share their loving memories. Guests are expected to arrive at least 15 minutes early.
