Pauline Albert

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Pauline Albert, on July 10, 2025, at the remarkable age of 96. A devoted educator, loving mother, and cherished family matriarch, she leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and adventure.

Pauline is survived by her son Mark and his wife Pat, her daughter Janet and her husband Mike, her grandchildren Paul, Brian, Lawrence, and Dana, and her five great-grandchildren who adored her. She was lovingly married to Harvey Horowitz and later to Charles Albert, both of whom predeceased her.

A talented educator, Pauline inspired countless students with her enthusiasm and kindness. Her love for plants, animals, and travel enriched her life and the lives of those around her. She was also known for her Scrabble prowess, delighting in outmaneuvering her family members and proving her mastery of words.

Her life was a testament to her strength, resilience, and generosity of spirit. Pauline will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Pauline’s family will receive friends on Monday, July 14th from 2-5pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, with a service starting at 4pm. Committal will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the New York Botanical Garden in celebration of Pauline's love for plants.
