With deep love and fond remembrance, we share the passing of Robert John Baile, who left to be with the Lord at the age of 77. Born on March 16, 1948, in New York, Robert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, veteran, detective, and friend to many.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army from August 1966 to August 1968, stationed overseas in Taiwan and Okinawa. He later continued his life of service as a member of the New York Police Department, where he served from 1973 to 1998, retiring as a Detective. After retirement, he continued working as an Account Executive with Advantage Security,
Robert had a great sense of humor and, when prodded, could go toe-to-toe with the wittiest of the group. He loved nothing more than sitting back and being lovingly roasted by the people closest to him. He was also a man with a heart of gold, always ready to lend a hand or stand up for someone in need. Robert would do anything for anyone, without hesitation, and often insisting on anonymity.
Above all, Robert had a big presence—the kind of person who filled a room the moment he walked in. Whether through his booming voice, his deep, belly laugh, or his larger-than-life personality, you always knew when Robert Baile was in the room.
Following his second retirement from Advantage Security, Robert and his wife Loretta settled at the Jersey Shore, where they spent time building memories with extended family and regularly hosted their beloved grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Loretta (Murray), his cherished son Robert J. Jr. (Allison), and treasured grandchildren Avery and Robert J. III. He also leaves behind his siblings Elizabeth Acklin, Dennis Baile, John Baile, and Michael Baile, along with many loving nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Robert.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Louise Baile.
