Michael J. Casey

February 27, 2025 Jeffrey Wiecek

Michael J. Casey, the son of the late Michael and Margaret (Kielty) Casey passed away on February 27, 2025 at Calvary Hospital in his 95th year.

Beloved husband of the late Katherine (Kay) Doyle Casey. Loving father of Craig (Joanne), Glenn, Christopher and Jean Katherine Casey Heinemann. Dear brother of Margaret Charlton and the late John (Jack) and Maureen Casey Meenan.

In addition to his children, Mike was the proud grandfather of Michael (Danielle) Casey, Kerry Casey, Robert (Kim) Heinemann and Timothy Heinemann and great-grandfather of Emily and Connor Casey and Finn and Cara Heinemann, who will forever carry his legacy forward.

Born in Manhattan as the first-generation son of Irish immigrants, Mike moved to Riverdale, Bronx, NY in 1959 where he continued to raise his family. Mike always had a welcoming smile for everyone he met. He enjoyed playing squash and tennis for over 45 years. In the 1960s he brought his young family for a vacation to Montauk, NY, and it became a cherished gathering spot for generations of his immediate and extended family and friends. His life was marked by deep connections with those he loved and a generous, giving spirit.

Reposing at Riverdale On Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Ave. Bronx, NY.  Visiting hours are Wednesday, March 5th from 3-7 PM.  Funeral mass will be at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, 6000 Riverdale Ave. Bronx at 9:45 AM on Thursday, March 6th. Committal service will be held after Mass at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Calvary Hospital in the Bronx.
