Anna Camille Harris

March 22, 2025 Jeffrey Wiecek

Sadly, our beloved, Camille Harris, 81, of Riverdale, NY, passed away on March 22nd 2025. Anna Camille Harris was born on December 29th, 1943 in Mineola, NY. She traveled the world singing on cruise ships as well as various local pubs. After her adventures, she settled down in Manhattan to raise her children, Jonathan & Edna. In 1987 she transplanted the family to Riverdale, NY and she continued to work as a single mother providing home and care for her family. She fought her disease for 10 years and succumb to it peacefully alongside her loved ones. She is survived by her son, Jonathan Harris, daughter, Edna Harris, as well as her family in Arizona sister, Roberta Baldassano, brother-in-law, Joe Prestifilippo, brothers, Joseph Centenni and Richard Centenni, sister-in-law Kim Centenni. Camille also leaves behind a brokenhearted, supportive group of relatives, including nieces, nephews as well as gran-nieces/nephews and countless friends.

Camille was the independent, self reliant, single mother who cared dearly for her family. Camille was a big personality in a small package. She had an impact on each person she interacted with. She was courageous, inspirational, kind, loving, full of joy, a ball of fire that showed us what can be accomplished with determination and persistence. She lived her life to the fullest, despite her many challenges. Her greatest joys and accomplishments were the love of her family & music.

Wake services will be held at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Ave, on Monday, March 31 from 4-7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Margaret of Cortona Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 1 at 9:45am. Burial will take place Thursday, April 3 at Nassau Knolls Memorial Park, 500 Port Washington Blvd, Port Washington, at 1pm.
