John A. O’Farrell

April 4, 2024 Jeffrey Wiecek

John A. O’Farrell (Laddie) was born in Liverpool, England on November 9, 1935 and peacefully departed this life on April 4, 2024 at the age of 88. Shortly after his birth, his family returned to the United States and settled on the West Side of Manhattan near 125th Street across from the Church of St. Joseph of the Holy Family where he attended school and spent many years as an altar boy.  John spent the last 30 years living in Riverdale, NYC.

John was the life of the party and loved to entertain. You could always find him on the dance floor or performing country songs for his friends and family.

John spent over 30 years as a cable splicer at Verizon. He enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife, Pat, to St. Maarten and spending his summers in Long Beach, NY. He also loved watching old movies, the history channel and the NY Yankees.

John is survived by his children, John (Diana), Ronnie and Karen (Bob) and Bill Falahee (Kathy). He is also survived by his grandchildren, John Paul, Brian, Mary, Kara, Bob, Christine, Joseph and Meghan and great-grandsons Timmy and Brody.  John is predeceased by his wife, Patricia Falahee, son, Joseph Falahee and grandson, Timothy O’Farrell.

He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

A wake and prayer service will be held at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, located at 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx, NY from 3 to 7 pm on Wednesday April 10, 2024.
