Thomas Clark

January 24, 2024 Jeffrey Wiecek

Thomas Clark passed away on January 24th, 2024. Tommy is survived by his wife, Ellen (nee Gunn) and his children Beth Sullivan (David), T.J. (Jennifer), Sean (Manda), his beloved grandchildren Tommy, Jimmy, Brody, his brother John (Jane), his sister Sheila and Uncle Tom to his nieces and nephews.

Tommy is predeceased by his parents John and Bridget (nee Markey) both of county Cavan and his sister Barbara Woods (Gerald).

Tommy was born in New York City and moved with his family in 1954 to Riverdale and lived on Sylvan Avenue.  He would often talk about his fond memories of going to the Riverdale Neighborhood House.  Tommy was an avid Brooklyn Dodger fan till they moved and then he naturally became a Mets fan because you couldn't root for the Yankees much to his children's dismay.

He served in the US Army Reserves. In 1962 he met his wife and they married in St. Margaret's church in May, 1966.

He worked as a Bus driver for MABSTOA (MTA) for 30 + years and would often start a story with "when I was driving the bus...".

He had a soft spot for pets of all kinds, especially dogs.  He was an avid reader and liked to discuss American and Irish history of which he had a vast knowledge.

Reposing Tuesday, January 30th from 4 to 8 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx, NY 10471.  Mass of the Christian burial 9:45am on Wednesday, January 31st at St. Margaret of Cortona Church. Committal private.
