Jo Ann Sullivan

May 3, 2022 Jeffrey Wiecek

Jo Ann Sullivan passed away after a short illness on May 3, 2022. Born in NYC on May 24, 1953 to Josephine (nee McCarthy) and Jeremiah Sullivan. Jo Ann was a graduate of St. Margaret's school. She furthered her education at the Academy of Mt. St. Ursula and at Fordham University where she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees in education. She began her teaching career at St. Philip Neri School on the Grand Concourse and then at Walton High School before her move to California where she taught for over 26 years for the school system in Gilroy.

Jo Ann had a great love for all God's creatures but especially for our canine friends. She loved and cared for numerous dogs her whole life. Even more so, though, she loved her family and many friends both here in NY and in California. She was a continuous fountain of love for her sister, Cathy, all her cousins, her sisters-in-law, her nieces, nephews and friends.

Jo Ann is survived by her sister, Cathy. She is predeceased by her parents, her brother, Michael, and her cousins Patricia, Josh and Shane Sullivan as well as her aunt and uncle Mary and John Sullivan who loved her very much.

Reposing Friday 3-7 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Ave. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 9:45 am at St. Margaret of Cortona Church. Committal Private.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Bideawee, North Shore Animal Shelter or Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Jo Ann's name."
