James D. Foley

May 20, 2022 Jeffrey Wiecek

Jim Foley passed away on May 20, 2022 at home. He was born on May 11, 1947 in the Bronx. He was one of three children Bernadette (deceased) and Michael born to James and Helen Foley (deceased).

He has been a lifelong resident of the Bronx, growing up in St. Nicholas of Tolentine Parish. He and his wife Eileen, married for 42 years, moved to Riverdale in 1977.

He was a beloved uncle and delighted in spending time with family and most especially nieces and nephews. He was know to all as Uncle Jimmy whether family or not. He shared his passion for fishing with the kids and made many friends while on his fishing trips. He loved when family got together and was always the first to offer a helping hand. His generosity and kindness to all he came in contact with is the legacy he left behind, He worked a few years with Metro North and then moved on to Con Edison as a meter reader and retired after 25 years.

He will be missed and loved by all who knew him.

Reposing Thursday 4-7 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Ave., Bx. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, 9:45 am at St. Margaret of Cortona Church. Committal Private.
