Margaret Ann Devine Carey
Beloved wife of the late James, loving mother of Jimmy, Johnny(Helen), Peggy, Joe, Theresa(Elena), Stephen, Maureen, Michael, Colleen(Kevin)and the late Kerry Ann, grandmother of 19 and great grandmother of 8. Devoted sister to Theresa and her late brother in law Jimmy, and aunt to many. Cherished mother-in-law to the late Billy, who referred to Margaret as “Big Red”.
After raising ten children, Margaret went back to school to earn her nursing degree. She took great pride in her work as a nursing home nurse.
Margaret loved her family, reading, crossword puzzles, crocheting, knitting, beaches & lakes, her Pepsi, ice cream and Milky Ways. She took great pride in her appearance and never went anywhere without her lipstick. Her sense of humor was loved by all who got to know her.
Family will receive friends Monday, October 10, 2022 from 3-7 p.m. at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 9:45 a.m. at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, 6000 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
