It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Virginia Lynn Brudzinski (Née) Backhaus on December 3, 2020 at the age of 74. She is survived by her husband Walt, children Randy and Leslye, grandchildren Jaclyn and Adam (Randy) and Alessandro and Soren (Leslye), and sister Marla.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, love and duty to family was foremost in Lynn’s life. Her devotion also extended to her sister, cousin, parents, aunts, and uncles. Family members could count on her to provide advice and hands-on help during times of need. Gifted with superior organizational skills, creativity, and unique attention to detail, she was the family’s “go-to” person for guidance, help, and support. Lynn loved life and loved living in New York City. She enjoyed the theater, art museums, concerts, operas, and ballets as well as her favorite Italian restaurant in Greenwich Village and her cat Stuart. She is missed by everyone who knew her.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Lynn touched are invited to the Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx, NY 10471, on Lynn’s birthday, Thursday, July 22, 2021, for a “Celebration of Life” Memorial Service. There will be a gathering starting at 1:30 PM followed by a memorial service starting at 2:30 PM. Parking is available in the St. Margaret of Cortona parking lot on Riverdale Avenue, one block south of the Funeral Home.
