Marianne Murray

June 12, 2021 Jeffrey Wiecek

Marianne Murray, who was predeceased by her parents Bernard and Loretta Murray, nee Byrne, was born November 8 1956 and passed away surrounded by her family on June 12, 2021. She is survived by her siblings, Bernard (Joan), Loretta Baile (Robert), Robert (Ruth), Timothy (Maureen), Dennis (Leonore), Kathleen, and Terrence (Melissa). She was a beloved aunt to Bobby Baile (Allison), Timmy, Nick, Michael (Kate), Matt, Christine Ward (Dan), Jillian Bachhal (Jesse), Danny, Luke, Maggie, Mark, Claire, Jack, Dennis, and Samantha and great aunt to Avery and Bobby. She was a beloved cousin to many.

Mimi, as she was known to her family, cherished the time spent with her “kids” and her siblings. Family was the cornerstone of everything she did, and she was happiest when she was “doing” for others. She found great joy entertaining family and friends, spoiling her nieces and nephews, and being the keeper of the family traditions. Generosity came easy for Mimi and even those who did not know her were beneficiaries of it.

Mimi was born in Highbridge and moved to Riverdale with her family in 1962. She attended St. Margaret of Cortona and Walton High School. She built lasting friendships throughout her life with her neighbors, childhood friends, and coworkers at American President Lines where she worked for over 30 years.

Mimi was a good woman of great faith and a devoted Catholic. Her faith sustained her throughout her seven-year battle with cancer. She was a warrior until the end. She will be forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Reposing Friday, 4-7 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY. Funeral mass will be held Saturday at St. Margaret of Cortona Church in Riverdale at 10:45 am. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
