Ray Ancheta

Ray was born to Isabelo & Felicisima Ancheta on January 28, 1952 in San Jose city, Philippines. He loved to play basketball & was a varsity player in Araullo University-Philippines where he graduated w/ Bachelor of Science in Criminology. He became a policeman in 1974.

He married Nenita Miranda on January 16, 1976. They had 3 children: Reynante, Ryan & Charmaine Ann.

He was known for his calm demeanor & charm. He was gregarious, hospitable & a kind friend. He would always say that he was ok even when he was going through tough times. He was not one to complain.

He arrived in NY on July 24, 2019 after spending some time w/ Charmaine Ann, Reynante & his family, Nenita & their relatives & enjoyed some time w/ the family of Reynante & Claire w/ their children, Reyn & Reyanne, Ryan & his family - Smile & Ryle over FaceTime because they are currently in Dubai & Nenita, his wife of 43 years.

He passed away at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, NY on September 22, 2019. He was a faithful member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo/ Church of Christ.

Reposing Sunday and Monday 5-9 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, Inc., 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY. Interment Tuesday at Oakland Cemetery.
