July 30, 2019 Jeffrey Wiecek

Bronx, NY— Dorian J. Lenhardt, 74, died July 30, 2019 at Montefiore Hospital following a massive heart attack. He was preceded in death by his only child, Dorian Jr., his wife Joan Marsh, his mother Mary Mackey, his brother Gregory Lenhardt, and sister Michelle Cook. He was a decorated Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also a proud lifelong New Yorker. As a child, he lived in Harlem and later moved to Manhattan’s lower east side where he remained for most of his life. He retired after more than 20 years as a New York City peace officer. Dorian lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; interacting with his many friends and loving his family. The esprit de corps and patriotism he learned in the Marines never left him, as friends and family will attest. He honorably served his Nation when called. Following a private requiem with military honors, he will be interred in a local National Cemetery.
