Lawrence (“Larry”) Adler passed away at the age of 90 in Somers, NY.  He was born in NYC on July 19, 1929.  His parents were Samuel Adler and Mollie Fenster.  Larry had two siblings, William (“Willie”) Adler and Lillian (“Lilly”) Adler Schnall.  Larry was pre-deceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Lucy Masumian Adler.

Larry is survived by his children, Marjorie Adler LaViola, Steven Adler, Richard Adler, Christine Adler Zapfel and their respective spouses, Joseph LaViola, Susan Rittenhouse, Maggie Adler, and Scott Zapfel, and 8 loving grandchildren, Joseph LaViola, Jamie LaViola, Michelle Adler, Carly Adler, Philip (“PJ”) Adler, Jennifer Adler Schober, Kelly Adler Kolstad, and Amy Adler.  In addition there are 5 great grandchildren, Caden LaViola, Julianna LaViola, Josephine LaViola, Mikey Schober and Timothy Schober.

For many years Larry was employed as a NYC cab driver, an MTA bus driver, and a MTA subway motorman.
Larry had a zest for life and loved the outdoors.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and flying model airplanes.  He was especially skilled at building model airplanes and teaching others to fly their model planes. He was a member of the Rockland County Radio Control Club and flew his planes at their club field as well as Croton Point Park.

After retirement Larry and Lucy traveled to many exciting locations via cruise ships and enjoyed winters in Boynton Beach, Florida close to their daughter Marge and her children. He will be sorely missed by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sons and daughters-in-law. His sense of humor and kindness to his grandchildren will not be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to The Paramount Rehab at Somers.

The family will gather on Saturday August 17th 2019 at 2:00 pm for a Memorial Service at the Woolworth Chapel at Woodlawn Cemetery.
