In Loving Memory of Gilbert Ortiz
Native of Ponce, Puerto Rico born in July 1941. He passed away at the age of 76 on Thursday, June 7, 2018. Gilbert is survived by his wife Lydia, his children Tina, Tony, Thomas and Vivian, his son in law’s Larry and Nick, his 6 grandchildren and great grandson and extended family. He loved playing paddle ball and basketball, enjoyed travelling, music and dancing and above all spending quality time with family and friends.
He was a loving and caring individual who enjoyed joking and making everyone laugh. He made an impact on everyone he came in contact with and will be dearly missed. We are at peace because he is no longer in pain. He will never be forgotten and we will carry his heart in our hearts always.
Wake, Tuesday June 12th from 2–4 pm and 7–9 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Ave, Bronx, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, June 15th at 11 am at St. Gabriel’s Church, 3250 Arlington Avenue, Riverdale, NY 10463. Burial to follow at St. Raymond’s 2600 Lafayette Avenue, Bronx NY. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations in Gilbert's honor to either the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
