Blanca Nieves

Blanca Nieves (née. Vega) entro a la vida eterna el 3 de Mayo 2017. Blanca nació el 8 de Octubre 1932 en Yauco, Puerto Rico. Blanca era la hija más pequeña de Miguel Angel Vega y Leonida Berlis Vega y la hermana de Rosario, Adelaida y Miguel Angel. Ella emigro a Manhattan en el año 1957 donde conoció al amor de su vida Angel Nieves. Se casaron en el 1959 y juntos disfrutaron un matrimonio lleno de amor por 58 años. En su vida profesional, Blanca fue una contadora para las iglesias Presbyterian y Riverside. Sus seres queridos siempre la recordaran por su devoción a la fe Católica, su familia y su equipo favorito – los Yankees. A Blanca la sobreviven su esposo Angel, su hijo Angel, su nuera Georgina y sus nietas Georgina, Angela y Cristina, sus hermanos Adelaida y Miguel Angel y sus sobrinos y sobrinas.

El velorio será viernes, 5 Mayo en la funeraria Riverdale-on-Hudson de 5 a 8 PM. La Misa será sábado, 6 Mayo a las 9:45 AM en la Iglesia Católica de St. Margaret of Cortona seguido por el entierro en el cementerio de Mt. Calvary en White Plains, NY.

Blanca Nieves (née. Vega) entered eternal rest on May 3, 2017. She was born on October 8, 1932 in Yauco, Puerto Rico. She was the youngest child of Miguel Angel Vega and Leonida Berlis Vega and sister to Rosario, Adelaida and Miguel Angel. She migrated to Manhattan in 1957 and in 1959 married Angel Nieves. Together they enjoyed a loving and fruitful marriage of 58 years. In her professional life, she was a long-time accountant for the Presbyterian and Riverside Churches. Blanca will forever be remembered by her family and friends for her devotion to her Catholic faith, family and Yankees baseball. She is survived by her husband, Angel, son, Angel, daughter-in-law, Georgina and granddaughters Georgina, Angela and Cristina, her siblings Adelaida and Miguel Angel and her nieces and nephews.

The viewing will be held at the Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home on Friday, May 5th from 5 until 8 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Margaret of Cortona Church on Saturday, May 6th at 9:45 AM. Interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in White Plains, NY.
