Robert Fennell of Riverdale NY and Bedminster NJ entered eternal life on November 26, 2017. Born on July 22, 1938, he was the son of John and Helen Diehl Fennell of Brooklyn New York. He grew up in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
He was a full scholarship student at both St. John’s Prep, and St John’s University. After earning a BS in Physics, he was employed by Electro Nucleonics, Fairfield NJ. While a full time employee of ENI, he attended Stevens Institute, Hoboken NJ. nights and summers for five years in order to earn a Master of Management Science degree.
His intelligence, hard work and commitment to a high standard of performance made it possible for him to become President of Electro Nucleonics . Under his direction, ENI grew and prospered until it was acquired by Pharmacia in 1988.
After the Pharmacia acquisition, he joined a startup company, Cirrus Diagnostics, in Chester NJ. as President and Chief Operating Officer. Cirrus also grew until it was acquired by Diagnostic Products Corporation of Los Angeles California. Following the Cirrus acquisition, he served as Chairman of the Board of Cylex, Inc. of Columbia Maryland.
During his retirement years he enjoyed traveling and being with his wife of fifty one years, Mary Jane, his son, Thomas Morrissey Fennell, and his Golden Retrievers.
