Bernhard Haberland

Bernhard Haberland, beloved husband and father, died on Friday, December 19th, 2014 after a brief illness.

Born October 9th, 1942 in New York City, he lived in Pennsylvania and later moved to Florida.  Ben was a loving father to two children and a devoted husband to Josephine Keigher Haberland.  He was a brilliant electrical engineer for more than 50 years and retired in the summer of 2014. During his career, Ben worked for Sperry Gyroscope, Burroughs Corporation, Datamedix and Philips and he was the inventor co-inventor of multiple patents in biomedical engineering.

Survivors include wife Josephine Haberland, daughters Michelle Haberland and Christine Haberland Graham and niece Maria Voukides.  Ben’s life was brightened by grandchildren Matthewand Norah and grandniece Alexandra.

Services will be held at 10am on Monday, December 29th at Good Shepherd Church at 4967 Broadway in New York City. Burial will follow at Ft. Hill Cemetery in Montauk, New York. Relatives and friends are welcome at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home at 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx, New York on Sunday, December 28th from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm.

An additional memorial service will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Stuart, Florida at a later date.
