Lawrence Kennedy

Death Notice - Kennedy, Lawrence passed away on April 21, 2014 at the age of 92. He was a proud Marine Corp. Veteran and passed Commander of the Riverdale American Legion. Lawrence is the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth. Loving father of Carol Blake, Thomas and Kevin. He will also be remembered as a devoted grandfather and friend to many.

The wake will be held Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday 9:45 am at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, 6000 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx, New York.

The burial with military honors will take place in Yonkers at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Fr. Fabian Lopez

Obituary Notice - Fr. Fabian Lopez passed away at Calvary Hospital on April 21, 2014 at the age of 47.  Fr. Fabian was ordained with the Class of 1999 and was the Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in NYC. He is survived by his loving parents Nora and Eulalio Lopez. He will be also be remembered as a dear brother to Orlando, John Eric and Brenda.

The wake will be held Tuesday April 22, 2014 from 5-9 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY. On Wednesday the wake will be from 1:30 - 7:30 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on West 142nd Street in Manhattan.  A Mass of the Holy Eucharist will be celebrated by Most Reverend Gerald T. Walsh at 7:30 pm following the wake at the church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan on Thursday April 24, 2014 at 10 am with the burial to follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx.

In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the New York Catholic Foundation for the Edward Cardinal Egan Pavilion, 1011 First Avenue, New York NY 10022.

Brian O'Rourke

Obituary Notice - Brian O’Rourke passed away on April 16, 2014, he was 49 years old.  Beloved son of Michael and Margaret O’Rourke of Riverdale, NY.  Survived by sisters Maureen (David) and Eileen (Chris) and predeceased by sister Maggie.  Loving Uncle of 6 nephews and one niece.

Ann Kennedy

Obituary Notice - Ann Kennedy passed away on March 31, 2014. Ann is the loving wife of Dennis J. Kennedy. She is the beloved mother of Ann Marie Kennedy (her husband Thomas Jordan), and Margarita Kennedy Rohan of Ireland. Ann has four cherished grandchildren: Christopher, Michelle, Connor and Cody. She will be remembered as a dear aunt and friend to many.

The wake was held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home located at 6110 Riverdale Avenue in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, New York. 

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday April 3, 2014 at 10:45 am at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, also in Riverdale. The committal was private.

Margaret McHugh

Mullin, Mary Elizabeth (nee Brown) of Riverdale, NY at the age of 82. Loving mother of John, Theresa Roth (Mike) and Patrick. Proud grandmother of Christopher (MaryBeth), Kim, Kristine (David), John and Tricia (Joe). Beloved great grandmother of Kayleigh, Kieran, Ryleigh, Dylan, Jack, Violet and Gianina.

The wake was held Tuesday March 25, 2014 from 2-5 and 7-9 pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday March 26, 2014 at St. Margaret of Cortona Church.

Denis A. Sweeney

Sweeney, Denis A. on March 18, 2014.  Native of Cullen, Co. Cork, Ireland.  Beloved husband of Catherine (nee McCarthy).  Cherished brother of John, Sr. Eileen Sweeney of the Loretta Order and the late Mortimor and Margaret.  Dear brother-in-law to Joan.  Devoted uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Danny Lynch
