Louis A. Ballarin

Louis A. Ballarin died on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 after a long illness. Son of deceased parents John and, Mary (nee Cilento) Ballarin. Beloved husband of Marie (nee) Searson. Survived by sister Eleanore and Brother-in-law Cirino Lotta and brother Eugene Ballarin, nieces Stephanie and Cristina, and Families.

Louis attended St. Ann’s Grammar School in East Harlem and graduated in 1969. He attended St. Agnes High School in Manhattan and graduated in 1973. Louis was Valedictorian in both Grammar and High School. Fordham University was the college he chose, where he was awarded a scholarship and graduated with a Master’s in Economics & Finance.

As a Professor of Economics & Finance he worked at Fordham University, The College of Old Westbury, and Fairleigh Dickinson University.

He served as a Student Advisor at City College, where he developed resumes, job interview training, and worked at many career fairs.

As an Economist he worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 12 years.

He reinvented himself in the public sector as a trainer for the Human Resource Administration, City of New York.

Lou was a devoted husband to Marie for over 27 years, where they shared Travels, Family memories, and Cherished Moments together…

Louis established many lifelong friendships whether in his old East Harlem neighborhood, or in his current residence in Riverdale, and at the schools he attended, and throughout his varied career.

Faith in God was very important to Louis, and it was evident in every stage of his life.

He is reposing Friday April 19, 2024 from 3PM to 7PM at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx, New York 10471.

Roman Catholic Mass will be celebrated Saturday April 20, 2024 at 9:45AM at St. Margaret of Cortona, 6000 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx, New York 10471

Both parking for the Funeral Home and the Mass is located in the Church parking lot adjacent to St. Margaret of Cortona. The Church is located steps away from the funeral home.
