Thomas G. Doherty passed away in Naples, FL on February 26, 2024. He is survived by his daughter Megan and his former wife and dear friend Patricia Gunn Doherty.

Tom, a long-time resident of Riverdale is predeceased by his parents Gerald Doherty and Anne Doherty (nee Archer) as well as his sisters Margaret Doherty and Geraldine Callanan.

Tom spent over 25 years in Human Resources and Labor Arbitration at city agencies including NYC Health & Hospitals Corporation. More recently he was a longtime member of the leadership team at Maimonides Health in Brooklyn.

He is a US Army veteran and served a tour in Vietnam in 1967 – 1968.

Tom was an avid New York Jets and New York Yankees fan and all of Riverdale knew to keep their distance after a Jets loss. He also enjoyed playing golf in his later years.

Tom was a great storyteller, especially about his adventures growing up with his friends in Riverdale.

Memorial gathering on Friday, March 8th 2024 from 3 to 7pm at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx, NY 10471.  Mass of the Christian burial 9:45am on Saturday, March 9th 2024 at St. Margaret of Cortona Church. Committal was private.
